The three-day double mountain gorilla trekking through Kigali in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is designed for those who want to trek mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park but begin in Rwanda. Those who wish to see mountain gorillas twice will also find this proposal appealing. By flying into Kigali rather than Entebbe International Airport, you will be able to spend more time with mountain gorillas on different days and meet two different families.
To get to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Uganda, a home to the largest population of mountain gorillas in the world, a safari driver guide will pick you up from Kigali International Airport or your hotel in Kigali City on this particular day. Depending on which crossing border you choose, you will make a stop in Kabale town (Katuna) or Kisoro (Chanika) on this journey through the most picturesque and hilly region of Uganda before continuing on to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for the night. After dinner, proceed to your reserved lodging and check in for the night.
Accommodation options include Rushaga Gorilla Havens (Budget), Rushaga Gorilla Lodge (Luxury), and Rushaga Gorilla Camp (Mid-range).
Plan your meals: lunch and dinner
You will head to the park information centre for the pre-tracking briefing regarding proper conduct during mountain gorilla trekking after breakfast and with your packed lunch. You will begin your much anticipated mountain gorilla tracking trip through the forest after your UWA ranger guide goes over the dos and don’ts when you encounter mountain gorillas. Please be aware that your age, fitness level, and interests all affect the gorilla family you are assigned. In order to choose the gorilla family that is shooting for you before you begin the real tracking, you will need to let your guide know in advance. You must be ready since searching for mountain gorillas could take anywhere from thirty minutes to three quarters of the day.
Because this park has a wide variety of wildlife species, including birds, big and small mammals, butterflies, and many more, your guide will be able to tell you about anything you come across while gorilla tracking. Once you come across your assigned gorilla family, you will have up to an hour to take pictures, observe, and track their movements as they engage in activities like playing, feeding, and grooming their young. After your allotted hour is up, return to the park information center to pick up your certificates. After lunch, head to a different area of the park to begin your second tracking session. Dinner and a night in
Accommodation Options: Ruhija Community Rest Camp (Budget), Gorilla Mist Camp (Mid-range), and Volcanoes Safari Lodge (Luxury)
Plan Your Meals for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner
Following breakfast and packing a lunch, proceed to the park information office for a second training on tracking mountain gorillas. Later in the day, you will begin your activity, which will involve meeting another family of mountain gorillas as they enjoy and hunt in their natural habitat. You will notice that every family behaves differently. Your three-day Bwindi double mountain gorilla trekking safari from Kigali will come to an end when you return to the park information center to unwind, pick up your second certificate, and enjoy lunch and other refreshments after spending an additional hour with the gorillas. You can also stay an additional night at a hotel in Kigali city.
