Gorilla trekking and chimpanzee trekking are two ways to encounter Rwanda’s primates when you visit the country and explore Volcanoes National Park and Nyungwe Safari. You will explore Rwanda’s breathtaking vacation sites during this 9-day itinerary. From Kigali, you begin your Rwandan tour journey towards the south of the nation. The rich culture of Rwanda will be encountered and experienced, along with a canopy walk, primate observation, and a nature walk in the Nyungwe forest. After trekking with the gorillas in Volcano National Park, you will return to Kigali with lifelong memories.

After our company representative greets us at the Kigali Airport, you will be driven to your town hotel in Kigali for check-in before to a pre-safari briefing. Overnight and dinner at The Manor Hotel

Drive to the south of Rwanda after a heavy breakfast. get to learn a little bit about Rwanda’s rich aristocratic history and the colonial era while touring the Museum and the Kings Palace in Nyanza. Following the visit, we go on to Butare, arriving just in time for lunch. We go to the National Museum once we settle into our hotel. In addition to being an excellent resource for learning about the region’s cultural heritage, the museum is well-organized and is arguably the best ethnographic museum in East Africa. Following the visit, we are treated to a stunning performance by the famous Indore dancers. We’ll have dinner and spend the night at our hotel. Please be aware that although the lodging is quite modest, there isn’t a better option.

The lodging is basic, but regrettably, there isn’t a better option nearby. Overnight and dinner at the Lake Kivu Serena hotel

Following breakfast, we will travel to Huye, Rwanda’s second-largest city and, due to its numerous academic and research institutes, also known as the intellectual metropolis of Rwanda. We pack a lunch and depart for Nyungwe Forest, where we will do a canopy walk on a raised platform above the treetops. The various plant species in the forest, which is a part of the Congo Rain Forest, are explained to us by an articulate guide. We arrive at our guesthouse/lodge in the late afternoon for dinner and the night. Gisakura Guest House or Nyungwe Top View for dinner and the night.

Hike to find primates, especially chimpanzees, after an early morning breakfast. Hikers will find pleasure in this park. At a comparatively high elevation, the landscape is rough and steep. We must dress warmly and wear appropriate hiking shoes. There are groups of Angolan Colobus monkeys in addition to chimpanzees. A tough hike is what you should expect. We have a late lunch at our guesthouse/lodge and unwind in the afternoon. Gisakura Guest House or Nyungwe Top View for dinner and the night.

On this day, visit the Kibuye Memorial near Lake Kivu before departing for Karongi area after breakfast, traveling through verdant tea plantation fields. The church, the scene of a significant slaughter, is adjacent to the memorial. The memorial’s close proximity to the church illustrates how the genocide remains a significant part of Rwandans’ daily lives. In Kibuye town, we have lunch before checking into our hotel or resort for supper and spending the night at Hotel Golf Eden Rock or a comparable establishment.

Today, after lunch, we take a boat trip to the breathtaking Lake Kivu scenery and interesting attractions. In the morning, we unwind at the beach and pool. We travel to the little islands, such as Peace Island and Napoleon Island, where thousands of bats can be found. At nightfall, we head back to our hotel/resort for dinner and our overnight stay. Overnight and dinner at the Lake Kivu Serena hotel or its equivalent

We take a trip around the shore after breakfast. A scenic 100-kilometer route that winds past plantain plantations and remnants of the rainforest connects the resort towns of Gisenyi and Kibuye, which are situated on the lake. Our arrival at Gisenyi coincides with lunchtime. Following lunch, we stroll around the Congolese village that borders Goma before unwinding by the pool. We will have dinner and spend the night at our hotel/resort. Overnight and dinner at the Lake Kivu Serena hotel or its equivalent.

Proceed to Volcano Park Headquarters (60 km) for a thorough briefing following an early breakfast at 6:00 am. We are split up into groups of eight, and rangers are assigned to each group. They lead us through the forest in search of the gorilla family that has been assigned to us. Before we see the gorillas chowing down on bamboo sprouts, the hike could take two to four hours. We have an hour to snap pictures and watch them in their natural habitat. We will return to the resort for a late lunch if all goes according to plan. We can see a traditional dance in the afternoon. We will have dinner and spend the night at either Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge or Hotel Muhabura.

After breakfast we drive to Kigali. Depending on the timing of our international flight, we can have lunch on the way or in Kigali before being dropped off at the airport.
